Classic Carbonara
The perfect quick & easy carbonara recipe for one

Ingredients:
2/3 strips smokey bacon
60g spaghetti
1 onion
1 garlic clove
1 large egg
As much parmesan/cheddar cheeeeese as you like
Method:
Chop the bacon, onion and garlic.
Place the spaghetti in a saucepan and cover it with just-boiled water. Adding a dash of oil will prevent it from sticking together too much. Cook for 8-10 mins.
While the spaghetti is cooking, fry the bacon in a separate pan over a medium heat. Once the bacon is lightly cooked, add the onions and garlic - Fry until browned.
When the spaghetti is finished cooking, drain the water in a sink and place back into the saucepan.
Add the bacon, onion and garlic to the spaghetti (drain the excess fat/oil).
Whisk the egg and add to the spaghetti. Keep turning the spaghetti and bacon until the egg is mixed in well and has thickened slightly.
Add the cheese & season with salt/pepper.
Quick tip: Separate the packet of bacon into sets of 2/3 rashers and freeze for a hungover fry-up or your next batch of carbonara!
